Our History
Savannah Wood was founded in May, 1978. Kirby Beam and Herbert Guerry bought Savannah Celcure Company, renamed the company and renovated the processing plant. During the renovation the wood preserving chemistry was converted from preservative ACC (Acid Copper Chromate or “Celcure”) to the more popular preservative CCA (Chromated Copper Arsenate). Over the years MCA (Micronized Copper Azole Type C) and dehumidification kiln drying services have been added to our product line. In March, 2012, upon the retirement of Herbert Guerry, Savannah Wood was purchased by Wen-Chuan Huang who owns Jeng Chia Lumber Co., of Taipei, Taiwan, a successful family run lumber business in Taipei that specializes in the production of high quality wood moulding.
